I just got a PS2 game to play on my PS3 that i got secondhand but it says that it's not compatible - i have a slim version. I don't think my version can be jailbroken either (CECH 30A) - is there any way I can play physical PS2 games on this console or am i totally SOL?
Some games released on the original PlayStation, the PS2, and the PS3 can also be played on the new PS5. However, there's a catch to this: unlike PS4 games, you can't use the original CDs or DVDs
Format your flash drive to FAT32. 4. Create a directory on the ROOT of your flash drive and name it 'PS3'. 5. Create a directory in the 'PS3' folder we just created and name it 'UPDATE'. 6. Download OFW 4.86 from HERE. 7. Copy the file 'PS3UPDAT.PUP' to the 'PS3/UPDATE' folder on your USB flash.
As for PS2 Classics, those are just the actual PS2 games repackaged for PSN distribution, so they want to run under Sony's PS2 -> PS3 emulator, which doesn't work on RPCS3 and it's not really expected to ever will. So overall, those remastered I'd give a whirl on RPCS3 first, but Classics are a lost cause. Edit: Oh yeah, almost forgot. The
